Whoa.

do you know what it feels like
when suddenly
the kaleidoscope of your life
focuses on the face
of a single person
and you just can't look away

and before you know it
you're diving headfirst
into a sea
of many beautiful
but terrifying things

every touch
every word
is given a hopeful meaning
a wish in every breath
a dream in every second

then words keep flowing out
and you
are forced to admit
that, yes, you are

falling.

That Was Quick.

an ancient pain thrashing through my body
leaving me shaken, weak
the cold night welcomes me
into her chilling embrace

acid burns on my cheek
as i sluggishly realize they're tears
breaking free from my prison of control
displaying to the empty room my sorrow

unbidden, a melody hums through my lips
words forming in my mouth
speaking of love so bleak
bringing in a fresh wave of melancholy

i submerge myself in my agony
let it surround me, to feel the intensity of the pain
and as i drown in the sea of my making...

i get bored with it.
and simply walk out.

onto the next adventure. :)
